The voting viewers are voting on personality, (Sergeant being an extremely likable character resembling a cuddly teddy bear), he can't go wrong with the dumb fools voting for him. They are not being impish they are being sentimental.
It serves the producers right - they picked him as Aunt Sally and it has backfired on them, they'll be more careful next time if there is a next time.

Unless there are some serial redialers I would guess the *dumb fools voting for him* are from several generations! ::giggling::

Someone mentioned here that Children in Need no longer get a per centage of the cost of phone votes? I think this has not be *publicised* much. I read it somewhere and a few others expressed *surprise* at the news.

In any case I stopped watching SCD about 4 years ago when I got fed up with the choice of music. Mainly the salsa choices. I think it was when Darren Gough won or came 1st runner up? SCD lost the appeal for me long time ago.

Also read something about Simon Cowell expresssing an interest in buying SCD? ::laughing:: maybe it is his staff keep dial for John Sargeant just to run down X Factor's viewers competition!
