But, you know, is it really that difficult to organise a class that teaches say 3-4 good, leadable moves and highlights the importance of 1 technical aspect of dance (say, frame or leading) and 1 musical aspect?
That's plenty for 1 hour and it covers all the main bases in the kind of ratio that your average Amateur Salsa enthusiast would happily embrace.



We are in complete agreement on that posit.. the problem ?.. most teachers seem to ignore those very principles..

I watched the classes given by 2 teachers this w/end ( given to beginners by and large ) both highly visible on the " scene ".. the level of instruction was very poor by any standards.. ( yes, it was M see M do )It became very apparent , that there were many in the class struggling with what I would deem as fairly simple sequences .

Nary a mention of frame, hold, or any basic technique..
