early 90's the people teaching were Columbian and Cuban with a plenty of dance experience.


I had a similar conversation with Eddie Torres himself who said, he wanted to teach people to dance and they said no I want turn patterns.





PLEASE dont go down that road ( they were cuban, etc ) national origin has absolutely nothing to do with teaching.

Ive spent half my life with latino dancers/teachers, and I can assure you, they know no more ( in many cases ) than possibly, do you .

We as teachers, know that sells.. i dont disagree with that premise.. I personally decided to conducted my career on turning out a decent , well informed, social dancer.. no matter the genre.

I do know that the majority are sold on the F and T side of things..and its a free market place..

My q to you is this.. how many of them will survive the long haul as dancers or teachers ??.. or, is it primarily about the money ? .

I should add.. Im not asking anyone to agree or otherwise.. just stating my observations and point of view..
