I love the phrase from the OP "experimenting with beginners"

Those are the level who you want to be given the best teaching so that they get it right from the start

Everyone of course has to start somewhere, but it is how a budding (if thats the right word) new teacher starts to develop their skills (either solo or from a mentoring teacher) in how/what needs to be considered within a teaching environment.

Agree with t.t. - how long someone has been dancing is no indication of their ability to teach dance.

I would go further - how long someone has been dancing is also no indication of their knowledge in any dance form.

I think teaching is always an interesting topic for discussion as it raises the question of how you teach, what you teach, who you learn from in terms of teaching delivery/content, who defines/legislates what you teach etc... that has been covered in various threads in this forum & other forums on and off for years

I don’t quite understand, why, teaching Salsa dance is any different than teaching any other subjects.

Those of you who go to university would know that in your first year and occasionally second year of studies, you are sometimes taught by Masters or PhD students themselves. What do they know about teaching? What teaching experience or life experience (generally) or experience of the subject of specialisation (which they themselves have just read or studied) do they have?

To me, this kind and level of teaching is more dangerous and frightening than one can find in Salsa dance classes environment.

What is/are the worst that can happen in Salsa dance being taught by unqualified, amateurish, inexperienced, ill-equipped instructors?
