Interesting comment and you might not mean or intend to be derogatory remark. What if they had not travelled the same or similar routine as yours? Does it mean they are not good and donot know how to teach correctly?

I have always switched off when hearing people (of any profession) start saying, "I've been a builder/plumber, teacher, driver etc. etc. for twenty or thirty years, ... ".
