we just want to dance and enjoy whatever we go to, there are so many negative small time operators its unreal, these promoters could not run their own bath!!!!!
Have you ever noticed that when a new Supermarket / Hypermarket gets built in your neighbourhood there are some amazing benefits? Like shopping with a roof over your head an amazing variety of products under one roof and free parking mostly all positives I think you'd agree!
But for all the benefits that come with the BIG BOYS it’s easy to overlook the fact many people after the arrival of the BIG BOYS will have to drive rather than walk because there isn’t a Supermarket on every street corner or that choice is actually reduced because many of the local shops have closed down or that prices that were initially very low suddenly rise after the local shops have disappeared or that if you ask a local fish monger how to cook the cod you just purchased they’ll tell you ten different ways because they've been around for a while and have specialist knowledge and experience of the busines but the guy wearing a fishmonger’s apron in the Supermarket will often say “what’s a cod”…
In continental Europe where there are legal restrictions placed up on the number of Supermarkets / Hypermarkets in any given area, the quality and the VFM of most products let alone the quality of service is far better than in the UK as anyone who has lived there will tell you … It’s all about balance and the arguments raised on this forum are not necessarily negative but valid in the same way as the Supermarket argument
Some ‘small time promoters’ as you put it can run their businesses and some can't and many anyhow, simply aren't interested in becoming BIG TIME promoters; so sweeping generalisations like the one you’ve made aren't really relevant are they? I do note though that most of the questions raised haven't been answered, other than by bitchiness or vitriol...
I'd be willing to bet though that if the same people who fall over themselves to support the BIG BOYS without reservations or recognising and answering some of the valid points raised on this forum (which in the main are not bitchings but genuine concerns) were to be asked about a large Super market being built in their backyard they'd take a different position! I could be wrong but I’d be willing to bet!
Pros and Cons about anything… are a good subject for debate between genuine people IMHO
