If I go to a lesson in a sports centre, there are drinking fountains left, right and, er, well centre.

If I go to a lesson in a bar/club, why should I then have to pay for drinking water, out of a need for h20 rather than as an additional social element?

The mark up on non- alcoholic drinks is HUGE! The bottled water that's forced on us at venues like the Coliseum (£2.40 for half a litre!) with a similar price tag for a can of Pepsi that sells in the shops for under a quid are points in question.

I would rather pay an extra £3/4 that goes to the venue than have to pay those bar prices for what is sometimes a flat, tasteless, half filled with ice glass of pop that amounts to less than half a standard size can's content!

Of course, 'promoters' could always take one for the team and bung the venue a few quid extra from the takings (and of course, if they actually declared it and ALL their takings to HMCR it would be tax deductible!)

We should also bear in mind with the exception of Friday and Saturday nights, most places would tear your arms off to get 100 to 200 bods into their place during the week when it's quiet, even if only 60% of those there bought one drink each, as this would be a far great income from a virtually empty place otherwise. And it's not like a salsa crowd will puke in your loos and smash up your VIP areas or try and stab your eviction technicians now is it?

Promoters need to give their heads a wobbly and have a reality check or find another cash cow to milk (perhaps, even get a 'real' job!). It’s quite easy for them to make a £1000 quid plus from 1 night mid-week and yet they want us, their paying public, to buy drinks to keep them on easy street?

Oh, and as for 'banning' someone for drinking water, go on, try it, I dare you, I hope it's me, so I can drag your sorry ass into the media before dragging it into court!
