Good points Andrew ... And of course most of those that do survive for any length of time do have an element of dual use. Our strongest night was where people could come in and enjoy a party at the ground floor bar (free entry) DJ paid for by the venue or pay to come in to the Salsa club on the 1st floor ... This of course is down to the availability of appropriate venues, which are becoming less and less available due to the general bad reputation of Salsa nights for being viable.
