I don’t think he/she is trying to be rude and I am not defending them. However, you are not comparing like with like. Ballet training takes years and if not done from early age then one has no chance to become a ballet dancer - while to be a decent Salsa dancer, perhaps, (depending own dexterity, obviously) less than twelve months.

Each dance carries its own physical burden, complexity and dexterity. One needs to be sufficiently fit to walk the dog.


I'm talking about what is needed to compete in this dance competition. Someone schooled in salsa only isn't going to make it because salsa does not required the fitness and agility of many other dance forms. See thread above this thread is at the tail end.
