The vote is "stressed" as being your favourite dancer.
Both personality and ability are important.
In terms of her having to do the Lindy Hop as unfair is rubbish. The previous week she got Salsa and others were outside their comfort zone.
She did well but wasn't as good as the others.
There is a lot of luck in these competitions, how the show is edited, performing first is usually a massive disadvantage, a soundbite taken out of context etc. etc.
