During the Seventies I missed all this great Fania music, all I knew about was the Eagles and Pink Floyd and Disco, what a shame. The only Latin song I ever recognised as Latin was La Bamba which incidentally the Beatles virtually copied and called it Twist and Shout. It was a wonder they weren't sued for plagiarism as George Harrison was later to be over My Sweet Lord sounding like She's So Fine by The Chiffons.

Doesn't it show how narrow minded UK music suppliers were and still are? I still need to access the US sites to source my Latin collection.

Salsa was danced back in the Seventies but the clips didn't show much. I wonder how different it looked back then than today, if any different at all.

I could be wrong but I don't think Salsa has changed much since the 70s. Salsa is still as exciting and invigorating as it was in the 70s. The current steps, routines, variations [whatever you like to call them] that dancers apply today are more or less the same as when Salsa was created.

What do you think TT?
