La Bamba originaly recorded in 1958 by Ritchie Valens.

Twist and Shout was originaly recorded by The Top Notes in 1961. This has a more Rock and Roll feel.

Twist and Shout was again recorded by the Isley Brothers in 1962.

This version had the distinct La Bamba melody that was later found in The Beatles cover version.

In short. The Beatles version was actually based on The Isley Brothers cover version and not directly on La Bamba.
