The only Latin song I ever recognised as Latin was La Bamba which incidentally the Beatles virtually copied and called it Twist and Shout

Twist And Shout was originaly recorded by The Isley Brothers, and the original is infinitely better than The Beatles' lame attempt. Don't get me wrong, The Beatles did later become memorable song writers, however their early tracks are mostly inferior covers of R&B tunes of the time. The same can be said of The Stones and virtually all UK bands of this era.

I will forgive both The Beatles and The Stones, however, because when they went to the US both these bands explicitly credited the artists and genres they were borrowing from. The lesser UK bands tried to pass their poor quality covers off as originals.

To make a list of famous '60s UK pop songs that are actually diluted versions of gritty R&B tunes would take a while. A long while.
